Appearance -
Eyes: Lily’s eyes were the window into the very person she was. They were a deep emerald green colour with a dark ring around the edges. No one had eyes like her. They glimmered in the sun and shone just as bright in the dark. She had long auburn eyelashes circling her lids. And on occasion, if you caught Lily crying, her eyes would turn such a bright green, it was impossible to look away.
Hair: Lily’s hair was the epitome of herself. If you asked anyone who knew her, they would say that her red hair was what made her, her. It was as bright as day and as soft as silk. In the right light, it looked like fire. This was Lily’s favorite thing about herself.
Height: Five feet six inches.
Physical description: Lily was extraordinary beautiful. With flaming red hair and green eyes, Lily took after her mothers family Irish roots. She had a pale complexion, one that never tanned, only freckled. Because of this, she avoided direct contact with the sun. Standing at about 5’6 weighing in at 116 lbs, Lily was the perfect build for a ballet dancer. Generally, Lily had a smile on her face; she used this as a defense mechanism. No one could ever really tell what was going on in her head. Lily often smelled of Cherry Blossoms and pumpkin spice.
Early Life: Lily Evans was a muggle-born Witch born January 30, 1960 as Lillian Margret Evans in Dublin Ireland to Rolph and Dahlia Evans. Her mother, whose family tradition it was to name their daughters after flowers, wanted to name her after the lily flower, but they already Petunia, so her husband made a compromise with Lillian. When she was just four years old, her family moved to Spinners End, England where she did most of her growing up. She is half Irish and half English. From birth, Lily showed a large talent for ballet and when she was old enough her parents enrolled her and her sister Petunia into a private school for the performing arts. But, that wasn’t all Lily had a talent for. She was only three when she started showing signs of magic. The flowers in her mothers garden would change colors before your eyes, and when Lily wanted something out of her reach, she always had a way of getting them. When Lily found out she was a witch, she continued to dance, but knew that her future lied else where.
Wardrobe choice: Lily didn’t care much for appearances. On many occasions she’d arrive to class a mess from studying the night before: Hair tangled, make-up from the night before smudged down her cheeks, but even then she was beautiful. Lily dressed fairly well, however on most occasions, you could find her wearing some old beat up band t-shirt and cut off shorts with holes with black flats.
Character traits: There are a lot of things people don’t know about little miss Lily Evans, and a lot of preconceived notions floating around there. Lily Evans didn’t dislike many people. She was a nice, fair, good person who made a point to get along with people she didn’t like, and she made a point of doing it well. She had a temper, and some tended to label her for it (and once those rumors got started they were hard to put out) but usually, usually, Lily got along fine with the masses — house prejudices, blood prejudices, and … well, ginger prejudices aside.
Personality: Lily’s personality reflected that of her hair. Fiery. Short fused but fiercely loyal and loving, headstrong and wicked smart. A bit of a book worm and over-achiever, she was known for being uncommonly and exceptionally kind-hearted and talented witch, and not just for a Muggle-born. She also was an all-time favourite of her Potions Master, who noted that she was witty and charming, as well as having a knack for potions. She a habit of seeing the best in others, even when they could not see it themselves, though her good opinion, once lost, was gone forever.
Though kind, her temper was short, and when enraged, Lily had a sharp tongue and had no trouble standing up to others. She had strong principles and was insanely prideful, which lead to her ending her friendship with Severus Snape when she could no longer tolerate his fascination with the Dark Arts or his devotion to Voldemort’s genocidal cause. She did not think any one person was better than another, so she had a hard time understanding why people didn’t like her as a child, but she got used to it.
Lily and her husband were also brave and self-sacrificing, defying Voldemort three times as members of the Order of the Phoenix, and dying to protect their son. Dumbledore has claimed that she was very much like her son, Harry.
Parents: Rolph and Deliah Evans; both very accomplished concert musicians.
Siblings: Petunia Evans
Wand: 10 and a quarter inch, Willow. Very swishy, good for charms.
Patronus: Doe — A female version of James Potter’s patronus and anamagius.
Boggart: The lifeless body of James Potter. (Though, no one but herself knows this. Others think it is darkness.)
Amortentia: Fresh Tea Leaves, old books, rain water, old spice and broom polish
