During the summer of 1976, fourteen students from Hogwarts went off on a trip. This was the first great length of time any of them had spent away from home, so they were happen for the independence. Later, it became known as the Great Road Trip, for many friendships were made, many relationships were kindled, and many memories were created.

James counts his time among these people as some of the greatest days of his entire life.
